This bill establishes the Wildfire Science and Technology Advisory Board, a permanent advisory committee within the Department of the Interior. The Board's key duties are to: (1) coordinate the operationalization of wildfire research within the federal government, including identifying ways to translate research into practical applications, establishing prioritization criteria, facilitating the transition of research into operations, and partnering with private and research entities; (2) encourage wildfire researchers and federal agencies to include relevant disciplines and consider built and natural fire-prone environments; and (3) disseminate information on wildfire research, best practices, and resources to stakeholders. The Board is composed of federal agency representatives and up to 18 members appointed by the Secretary of the Interior, representing state/local/tribal governments, private sector entities, researchers, and experts. The bill authorizes $10 million in funding for the Board's activities.
