This bill requires the Secretary of Homeland Security to conduct a southwest border threat assessment on the Tren de Aragua, a transnational criminal organization, and develop a strategic plan to counter the identified threats. The threat assessment will include information on the origins, strategic aims, tactics, funding sources, and leadership structure of Tren de Aragua, as well as their efforts to unlawfully enter the United States or exploit security vulnerabilities along the southwest border. The strategic plan will focus on mitigating the criminal threats posed by Tren de Aragua and other transnational criminal organizations, improving information sharing between federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies, and preventing the proliferation of these organizations in the United States.
