This bill amends the Public Health Code to require licensees and registrants to complete an appropriate number of hours of training on implicit bias, which refers to unconscious attitudes or stereotypes that can contribute to unequal treatment of individuals based on characteristics such as race, gender, or disability. The training must include trauma-informed approaches to care and anti-stigma education on physical, cognitive, and developmental disabilities and behavioral health conditions. The Department of Health may promulgate rules to implement this new requirement, which does not apply to individuals licensed under Part 188 of the Public Health Code.
