This bill amends the Public Health Code to allow individuals 18 years of age or older to create, manufacture, possess, or use psilocyn or psilocybin (psychedelic compounds) under certain circumstances. Specifically, the individual must possess no more than 2 ounces of the substance, have it only for personal use, and have a medical record demonstrating a diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This bill aims to provide an exception to existing laws that prohibit the possession and use of these controlled substances, allowing their use for individuals with PTSD as part of potential therapeutic treatment.
