This bill, the Critical Mineral Consistency Act of 2024, amends the Energy Act of 2020 to include "critical materials" in the definition of "critical minerals". This broadens the scope of the term "critical minerals" to not only include specific minerals, but also other non-fuel materials that the Secretary of Energy determines to be critical. The bill also requires the Secretary to update the list of critical minerals published under the Energy Act to include any new critical materials within 45 days of making that determination.
