This bill establishes a Veterans Suicide Prevention Commission in New Jersey to address the complex challenges faced by military service members and veterans, particularly focusing on suicide prevention. The commission will consist of 12 members, including ex-officio representatives from the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Human Services, as well as appointed members with diverse expertise such as mental health counseling, brain injury treatment, veterans' court representation, community spiritual leadership, substance abuse services, employment support, and representation from service members' spouses.
