Bill Summary
This bill permits driving schools to use motor vehicles owned or leased by driving instructors employed by the driving school for behind-the-wheel driving instruction or for the road test portion of the driving test administered by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission. The driving instructor is required to maintain a valid State issued driver's license and a valid driving school instructor certification. The motor vehicle is required to be properly insured and registered, and to meet the safety standards for a vehicle that provides driving instruction including, but not limited to, dual control brakes, seatbelts for the student and driving instructor, and signage stating "Student Driver" visible in the front and rear of the motor vehicle.
