Bill Summary
This bill creates an excuse from jury service for students who are temporarily residing outside of New Jersey to attend an out-of-state secondary or post-secondary education programs. Under this bill, a person who is 18 years of age or older and temporarily residing out of state to attend a secondary, post-secondary, vocational, graduate or professional education program outside of New Jersey, may be excused from jury service. The student shall provide acceptable forms of proof that the student is temporarily residing outside of New Jersey to attend the out-of-state educational program. The New Jersey Administrative Office of the Courts shall oversee the requirements for acceptable forms of proof of out-of-state residency.
