This bill, the Medicaid Breast Cancer Access to Treatment Act, amends the Social Security Act to require Medicaid coverage for individuals with breast or cervical cancer. Specifically, it adds a new category of individuals eligible for Medicaid coverage, those "described in subsection (aa) (relating to certain breast or cervical cancer patients)." The bill also includes breast reconstruction following a medically necessary mastectomy as part of the Medicaid medical assistance covered. Lastly, the bill makes conforming amendments to the Federal Medical Assistance Percentage (FMAP) and cost-sharing provisions in the Social Security Act to align with the new Medicaid coverage requirement.
