Specifically, the bill changes the timeline for onsite inspections from 20 to 30 days after receiving an emergency notice, and extends the period for team members to recommend project denial, approval, or modification from 30 to 40 days. These changes apply only during a state of emergency declared under Montana Code 10-3-303. The bill requires that emergency actions still be reported within 15 days, with detailed information about the location, description, date, and reason for the emergency action. If an emergency action is ultimately denied or modified, the person who undertook the action must submit a mitigation plan within 90 days. The bill provides flexibility for emergency responses while maintaining oversight and accountability for actions taken during emergency situations. The legislation takes effect immediately upon passage and approval.
