These materials will help drivers learn how to identify potential signs of human trafficking and understand how to report concerns to the appropriate authorities during their annual training requirements. The bill also encourages OPI to continue its existing efforts to prevent child sex trafficking, which include reviewing best practices, providing educational resources to parents and community members, coordinating with law enforcement and other organizations, and supporting school districts in developing policies and educational materials about child sex trafficking awareness and prevention. The bill will take effect on July 1, 2025, ensuring that school bus drivers will have access to these critical training resources to help protect potentially vulnerable children.
