This bill modifies the compensation determination process for certain county court coordinators and administrators by removing the requirement for commissioners court approval of their compensation. Similarly, for court administrators, the bill eliminates the requirement that their compensation be set within a specific salary range by the commissioners court's annual budget. The bill also clarifies that while commissioners courts generally set compensation for county and precinct officers and employees paid from county funds, there are exceptions for court coordinators and administrators under government code sections 74.104 and 75.401. The changes aim to give judges more autonomy in determining compensation for key court staff, while still requiring county funding through the budget process. The bill will take effect on September 1, 2025.
