The bill also provides specific remedies if either party fails to provide or update contact information, including potential court orders, monetary judgments, and in some cases, lease termination. Tenants can only pursue these remedies if they have themselves complied with the contact information requirements. The bill includes a provision allowing flexibility during state-declared disasters and specifies that these new rules will apply only to contact information disclosed on or after the bill's effective date of September 1, 2025.
