The Housing Division of the Department of Business and Industry will administer the account and review reimbursement requests, which must include proof of fee reduction, compliance with existing housing development requirements, and a certificate of occupancy for the affordable housing project. The State Board of Examiners and the Interim Finance Committee will review and approve these requests, with the Interim Finance Committee having the authority to approve distributions even during legislative sessions. The bill appropriates $20 million to the account to fund these reimbursements, and the money can be supplemented by grants, gifts, and donations. Any unused funds will carry over to the next fiscal year, ensuring continued support for affordable housing initiatives at the local level.
