This bill directs the Secretary of Defense to designate a Coordinator for Engagement with PFAS-impacted defense communities. The Coordinator's responsibilities are to improve the outreach, education, and communication efforts of the Department of Defense with respect to current or former defense communities affected by the contamination or leakage of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), and to serve as a dedicated liaison between the Department and local governments, advocacy organizations, and individual citizens in these communities where the Department has ongoing or incomplete PFAS remediation projects.
