This bill aims to support the financing of affordable and reliable energy projects, including coal, oil, natural gas, and civil nuclear energy, by international financial institutions. It instructs the U.S. Executive Directors of these institutions to oppose any restrictions on such financing and to pursue policy changes that would reverse existing restrictions. The bill also limits a portion of U.S. funding to the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development until it rescinds any restrictions and adopts a policy promoting the financing of these energy projects. Additionally, the bill requires the Secretary of the Treasury to identify steps the U.S. can take to promote international financing of these energy projects in developing countries.
