This resolution commemorates Sindhi Saqafat 2025, a cultural celebration observed on December 7 by the Sindhi people of Pakistan's Sindh province and its global diaspora. The resolution highlights the festival's significance as a day of unity that showcases centuries-old Sindhi culture, with participants wearing traditional attire like ajrak (printed shawls) and topi (caps). Since its first observance in 2009, the event has grown to include various cultural activities such as poetry readings, musical concerts, theatrical performances, seminars, and large gatherings where famous Sindhi singers perform the national song "Jeay Sindh Jeay-Sindh Wara Jean." The Texas House of Representatives formally acknowledges the cultural importance of Sindhi Saqafat and extends best wishes to Sindhi residents of Texas who will be participating in the observance, recognizing the community's deep pride in their cultural heritage and history.
