This bill establishes the "Kratom Consumer Protection Act" to regulate the sale of kratom, a product derived from the Mitragyna speciosa plant. The bill defines a "dealer" broadly as any person selling or preparing kratom, including retailers and manufacturers. Dealers are also forbidden from selling kratom to individuals under 18 years old. The law provides a good faith defense for dealers who relied on representations from manufacturers or distributors, allowing them to avoid penalties if they can demonstrate they were misled about the product's characteristics.
