AI Summary

This bill aims to enhance government transparency by requiring the Department of Administration to create and manage a public website that provides detailed information about state procurement transactions. Specifically, the bill mandates that the department create a website that will include comprehensive information about each payment made by the department or a purchasing agency, such as the name of the contractor, the purpose of the payment, and the exact amount paid. The bill amends existing laws related to public access to procurement information, emphasizing that procurement information is a public record and should be readily available to the public. Additionally, the bill makes modifications to existing procurement regulations, including provisions for alternative procurement methods and how agencies can request authorization for such methods. The goal is to increase transparency in government spending and provide citizens with easier access to information about how public funds are being spent on contracts and services.
