This bill requires the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to create a new specialty license plate honoring the United States Naval Academy. The license plate will feature the word "Florida" at the top and the famous Navy slogan "Go Navy, Beat Army!" at the bottom. The annual fees collected from the sale of these plates will be distributed to the Jacksonville Chapter of the Naval Academy Alumni Association, which can use up to 10% of the funds for administrative costs related to promoting the plate. The remaining funds will be used to provide grants to charitable organizations in Florida that support veterans and their families, including funding for food, shelter, service animals for wounded veterans, and support for children of servicemembers killed in the line of duty. The new license plate design will be developed according to department specifications, and the bill is set to take effect on October 1, 2025.
