This bill modifies the membership of the Public Safety Officer Standards and Training (POST) Council by adjusting the number and composition of its voting members. The bill removes one member from the board of crime control, reducing their representation from two to one, and adds a new member: a public safety communications officer who may be recommended by the Montana chapter of the association of public-safety communications officials. Other existing membership categories remain unchanged, including representatives from state government law enforcement, local police, sheriffs, county attorneys, tribal law enforcement, corrections, detention centers, and a misdemeanor probation officer. The bill will take effect immediately upon passage and approval.
