This bill modifies the existing law regarding mobile integration healthcare grants by expanding the eligibility criteria for recipients. Specifically, the bill allows emergency medical services (EMS) grant applications from county-operated EMS provider agencies, EMS provider organizations certified by the Indiana Emergency Medical Services Commission, and hospitals. A key provision is that if a local unit (city, town, township, or county) in a specific area has already submitted a grant application, other entities in that same area cannot also apply for the grant. The bill empowers the commission to establish, administer, and manage these grants, including creating application processes, developing evaluation criteria, establishing eligibility requirements, and selecting and funding grant recipients.
