This bill establishes a new process for designating and providing notice about significant private airports in Utah. If designated, the department must notify the relevant municipality or county, which will then be required to record a notice with the county recorder for any residential parcels within 2,500 feet of the airport's runway. This bill aims to provide transparency and inform residents about the proximity of significant private airports to their properties. The provisions will take effect on May 7, 2025, and apply to municipalities and counties across Utah.
