This Joint Memorial requests that the Washington State Transportation Commission officially name an overpass on Interstate 82, specifically at the junction of Yakima Valley Highway at milepost 54, as the "Washington State Patrol Trooper Charles Frank Noble, Jr. memorial overpass." This designation is a tribute to Trooper Charles Frank Noble, Jr., who served with the Washington State Patrol starting in 1957, was commissioned as a trooper in 1958, and tragically lost his life during a traffic stop on Highway 12 in Zillah on February 5, 1972, while serving as a dedicated and courageous public servant. The memorial also directs that copies of this request be sent to the Washington State Transportation Commission, the Secretary of the Washington State Department of Transportation, and the department itself.
