The implementation of these changes is contingent upon the completion of the new bridge, with specific provisions requiring the MDTA to notify the Department of Legislative Services within 5 days of the bridge opening to vehicle traffic. If the new bridge is not completed and notice is not received by December 31, 2030, the changes to the transportation law will automatically become null and void.
