This bill establishes a new class A misdemeanor offense called "unlawful procurement of a firearm" in New York state, which makes it illegal for an individual to purchase or take possession of more than one firearm from a dealer within a 30-day period. The bill also requires firearms dealers to request approval from the Division of Criminal Justice Services before selling a firearm and to report the sale within 24 hours of approval.
