This bill amends existing law to require public academies to submit several financial and reporting documents to the New Hampshire Department of Education, similar to requirements already in place for cities, school districts, and chartered public schools. The financial report must include a certification signed by the chairperson of the board of trustees, who must swear under penalty of perjury that the information is true and accurate. Additionally, if a public academy undergoes an independent financial audit, it must submit a copy of the audited financial statements. These new reporting requirements aim to increase financial transparency and accountability for public academies. The bill will take effect on January 1, 2026, giving institutions time to prepare for the new reporting mandates.
