The implementing association must provide an annual report detailing the number of tour participants, how many begin practicing in the target regions, the number of patients served, and the program's overall impact. The program can be funded through medical assistance funds and will run for three years, with the goal of addressing critical healthcare worker shortages that impede access to vital health services and negatively impact local economies. Additionally, the program will promote existing funding opportunities like the New York State Doctors Across New York program and loan forgiveness programs to further incentivize healthcare professionals to work in these regions.
