AI Summary

This bill allows restaurants, regardless of whether they have an alcoholic beverage permit, to permit patrons to bring sealed containers of beer or wine into the establishment for consumption with a meal. Under the new law, restaurants can establish their own policies about bringing in alcohol, such as charging a corkage fee, limiting the amount of alcohol, or only allowing wine or beer not on the restaurant's menu. For restaurants without a retailer's permit, any brought-in alcohol must be opened and served by a proprietor or employee who is at least 21 years old, has completed alcohol server training, and verifies the age of those consuming the beverages. The bill also allows patrons to remove one unsealed bottle of their own wine from the restaurant, provided it is resealed in a tamper-evident bag and accompanied by a dated meal receipt. This provision aims to provide more flexibility for restaurants and diners while maintaining responsible alcohol service and consumption guidelines.
