This bill amends two Kentucky Revised Statutes (KRS) to expand postincarceration supervision requirements for certain criminal offenses. Specifically, the bill adds felony attempts to commit offenses related to sexual crimes and human trafficking to the list of crimes that mandate a five-year postincarceration supervision period after an offender is released from incarceration. During this supervision period, the offender must comply with orders from the Department of Corrections, which may include education, treatment, or testing requirements. The Division of Probation and Parole will supervise these individuals, and the Parole Board can revoke supervision and reincarcerate the offender if they violate the terms of their postincarceration supervision. The bill modifies KRS 532.043 and KRS 532.060 to include felony attempts under specific statutes related to sexual offenses (Chapter 510), human trafficking (KRS 529.100 and 529.110), and sexual exploitation of minors (KRS 531.310 to 531.370) as offenses that trigger this extended supervision requirement.
