This resolution recognizes Bill Bryant for his 40-year career at WKYT-TV, a television station in Lexington, Kentucky. Originally from Williamsburg in Whitley County, Bryant studied broadcast journalism and political science before starting an internship at WKYT-TV in 1984. Throughout his career, he has served in various roles including daytime anchor, evening co-anchor, and interim news director, with a particular focus on political coverage. Bryant is known for launching the long-running program "Kentucky Newsmakers" and has interviewed numerous state and national political leaders. He has been recognized professionally, including induction into the Kentucky Broadcasters Association's Kentucky Mic Hall of Fame, and was honored by Lexington's Mayor Linda Gorton, who declared September 29, 2024, as "Bill Bryant Day". The resolution officially commends Bryant for his distinguished journalism career and directs the Senate Clerk to present a copy of the resolution to Senator Reginald Thomas for delivery to Bryant.
