This bill amends the Essential Support Person Act to expand the definition of "Department" to include both the Department of Public Health and the Department of Human Services (specifically for community-integrated living arrangements), and modifies the definition of "facility" to explicitly include community-integrated living arrangements. The bill clarifies that the term "facility" does not include facilities not regulated by the Department of Public Health or the Department of Veterans' Affairs, with the exception of community-integrated living arrangements. Additionally, the bill introduces a new definition of "home" as a community-integrated living arrangement, which broadens the scope of settings where essential support persons can be designated.
