This bill creates a new "disabled veteran deer and turkey hunting license bundle" specifically designed for disabled veterans residing in Indiana. The bundle includes several hunting licenses: a yearly deer hunting license for shotgun, muzzle loading gun, rifle, or handgun; a yearly deer hunting license for bow and arrow or crossbow; and a yearly turkey hunting license for both spring and fall seasons. The disabled veteran license bundle, which can be obtained annually for $80, allows the individual to take one antlered deer and two antlerless deer (or three antlerless deer) across multiple hunting seasons including archery, firearms, muzzleloader, and special antlerless-only seasons. Additionally, the bill provides other benefits for qualified individuals, such as reduced-fee yearly hunting and fishing licenses, which can be purchased for as low as $2.75. The bill is set to take effect on July 1, 2025, and aims to provide more affordable hunting opportunities for disabled veterans in Indiana.
