Manley Memorial Highway" in honor of Samuel A. Manley, a dedicated public servant who served 27 years in the United States Army Reserves as a Drill Instructor, worked in the Richmond Police Department from 1984 to 2005 rising to Assistant Chief of Police, and served as Captain of the Madison County Sheriff's office from 2008 until his passing on December 12, 2023. The resolution requires the Transportation Cabinet to erect appropriate highway signs denoting the memorial designation within 30 days of the resolution's effective date, recognizing Manley's lifelong commitment to service, his love for his country, community, and family, and ensuring that his contributions are publicly remembered and honored.
