This resolution honors the memory of John Richard "Dick" Lodge, Jr., a longtime Nashville lobbyist and public servant, by commemorating his significant life achievements and contributions. Born in Sewanee in 1949, Lodge was a graduate of the University of the South and Vanderbilt University Law School who worked in the State Attorney General's Office and later served as a legislative director for U.S. Senator Jim Sasser. Throughout his career, he was a partner at Bass, Berry & Sims, served as Tennessee Democratic Party chair, and was appointed as the first chair of the Nashville Sports Authority. Lodge was also actively involved in community service, including leadership roles at Christ Church Cathedral and Legal Services of Middle Tennessee.
