This bill modifies existing Washington state law regarding cannabis retailer advertising to more strictly regulate how cannabis businesses can advertise and display signs. The bill limits cannabis retailers to four signs affixed to their building's main entrance side, with each sign no larger than 1,600 square inches. Additionally, retailers may use two trade name signs that cannot include cannabis product images or brand names. The bill prohibits advertising that targets youth, includes images appealing to people under 21, or depicts alcohol, tobacco, or motor vehicles. Cannabis businesses are also banned from advertising outside Washington state and from using transit advertisements.
