This bill amends North Dakota gaming regulations by increasing the maximum prize limits for public-spirited organizations conducting gaming activities. Specifically, the bill raises the maximum primary prize from $8,000 to $15,000 and increases the total annual prize limit from $40,000 to $50,000. These changes apply to organizations recognized by city or county governing bodies that are granted local or restricted event permits to conduct activities such as raffles, bingo, sports pools, paddlewheels, twenty-one, and poker. The bill maintains the existing provision that the determination of what constitutes a "public-spirited organization" remains at the sole discretion of the local governing body. Organizations must still disclose their intended use of net income from gaming activities when applying for permits, and the new prize limits do not apply to raffles conducted under a separate chapter of North Dakota law.
