This bill requires school districts with 300 or more students to publish an annual report on their website by July 15th detailing the learning materials and activities used for student instruction during the previous school year. The report must be organized by grade level and subject area and include the title, author, organization name, or internet address for each learning material or activity. "Learning materials" is broadly defined to include textbooks, workbooks, digital resources, open educational resources, teaching aids, and any instructional materials students can select. The report must also describe the school's procedures for reviewing and approving these learning materials and activities. School districts can update the report throughout the year using collaborative online tools, but the final report must be completed by July 1st following the school year. The State Board of Education will notify districts by May 1st whether they are required to comply, and each year's report must remain publicly accessible until the next year's report is published. The bill aims to increase transparency about educational content and will take effect on July 1, 2025.
