This bill expands Indiana's anti-discrimination policies to include additional protected classes in educational and employment settings. Specifically, the bill adds "gender identity," "sexual orientation," and "status as an active member of the armed forces" to existing non-discrimination clauses across several sections of Indiana law. The bill defines "gender identity" as the psychological, behavioral, social, and cultural attributes that an individual self-identifies with, even if those attributes differ from the sex assigned at birth.
