This bill modifies existing Oregon law regarding landscape contracting businesses by expanding the definition of independent contractor work and adding several specific categories of work that landscape contracting businesses can perform. The bill amends three existing statutes (ORS 671.525, 671.540, and 671.627) to clarify and broaden the types of services landscape contracting businesses can undertake without additional licensing. The bill also modifies contract rescission rules, allowing property owners to rescind a contract with a landscape contracting business within three business days of execution, with certain limitations. Additionally, the bill specifies that these changes will take effect on the 91st day after the 2025 regular legislative session adjourns. These modifications aim to provide more flexibility and clarity for landscape contracting businesses in Oregon while maintaining consumer protections.
