This bill directs the Prescription Drug Affordability Board (PDAB) to develop a comprehensive plan to consolidate and align objectives related to prescription drug pricing and transparency. By December 15, 2026, the board must submit a report to legislative committees with recommendations focusing on prescription drugs that are experiencing significant price increases (over 10% annually), are among the top 25 drugs in health plan spending increases, or have the highest overall healthcare spending. The bill aims to align reporting requirements, identify entities in the drug supply chain that should be included in transparency reporting, ensure consistency in reporting, protect trade secrets and confidential information by allowing aggregated data reporting, and potentially expand the board's membership to better represent stakeholders subject to drug price transparency reporting. The provisions of the bill will be repealed on January 2, 2027, and will take effect 91 days after the adjournment of the 2025 regular legislative session, providing a targeted approach to improving prescription drug pricing transparency and affordability.
