This bill modifies the Oregon Veterans Dental Program by adding a new requirement that dental care organizations and individual oral health care providers who contract with the Oregon Health Authority to provide dental services to veterans must complete an intake screening with an enrollee within 60 days after the veteran initiates contact. The bill maintains the existing eligibility criteria for the program, which include being an Oregon resident, being ineligible for medical assistance, having an income at or below 400 percent of the federal poverty guidelines, and being a veteran. The program continues to provide oral health care services to eligible veterans without copayments, deductibles, or cost sharing, and the Oregon Health Authority will still be responsible for administering the program, prescribing a simple application process, and providing assistance to applicants and enrollees. The bill includes a contingency provision related to potential changes from another bill (House Bill 2211) and will take effect 91 days after the adjournment of the 2025 regular legislative session.
