This bill establishes new requirements for natural gas utilities regarding hydrogen blending in their distribution systems. Additionally, utilities with hydrogen blending programs must maintain a webpage with program information and a way for customers to communicate about the program. By June 30, 2030, any natural gas utility with a hydrogen blending program must provide customer notification if they have not already done so. The bill is declared an emergency measure, meaning it will take effect immediately upon passage, reflecting the state's apparent interest in supporting the transition to more sustainable energy technologies like hydrogen blending.
