This bill establishes a Task Force on Provider Credentialing to improve and expand the Oregon Health Authority's provider credentialing database. The task force will consist of 15 members appointed by the Governor, representing various healthcare stakeholders including coordinated care organizations (CCOs), mental health and substance use disorder providers, other healthcare entities, and Oregon Health Authority representatives. The task force's primary objectives are to develop recommendations for expanding the database to include more provider types, improving its functionality for both CCOs and providers, determining what compliance materials should be included, and ensuring the database remains up-to-date and meets the needs of Oregon's integrated healthcare system. The task force will submit an initial report by December 31, 2025, and subsequent annual reports beginning in 2026. Task force members will serve as volunteers without compensation, and state agencies are directed to assist them. The provisions of this bill are set to be repealed on January 2, 2029, and the bill includes an emergency clause, meaning it will take effect immediately upon passage to address urgent public health and safety concerns.
