This bill expands the duties and scope of the State Resilience Officer position in Oregon, broadening the role from a focus specifically on seismic safety to a more comprehensive approach covering various types of hazards and emergency preparedness. The State Resilience Officer will continue to be appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate, with the legislative and judicial branches each required to designate individuals to monitor the effectiveness of hazard safety and resilience planning.
