This concurrent resolution establishes a joint convention of the Iowa House of Representatives and Senate to be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. during the Ninety-first General Assembly session. The purpose of the convention is to invite Chief Justice Susan Christensen to deliver an address on the condition of the judicial branch, as authorized by section 602.1207 of the Iowa Code. During this address, the Chief Justice will have the opportunity to discuss the current state of the judicial system and recommend matters she believes are important, which is a traditional practice that allows the head of the judicial branch to provide insights and recommendations to the legislative bodies.
