This bill amends section 11-11-37 of the North Dakota Century Code to provide county commissioners with an additional option for publishing their meeting proceedings. Currently, commissioners are required to provide a full and complete report of their official proceedings to the county's official newspaper within seven days after the meeting's approval. The proposed amendment allows commissioners to alternatively publish these proceedings on the county's official website, in addition to or instead of publishing in the newspaper. If commissioners choose to publish in the newspaper, the publisher must still print the report in the next issue and file an affidavit of publication with the county auditor. This change gives counties more flexibility in how they share government meeting information with the public, potentially reducing publication costs and making meeting minutes more easily accessible through online platforms.
