This resolution commends Howard "Sonny" Turner for his significant contributions to soil and water conservation in Georgia. Turner, who was raised on a dairy farm and graduated from the University of Georgia with an agricultural education degree, has been a dedicated conservationist since attending the state's first Natural Resources Conservation Workshop in 1962. He has served as the Walton County Conservation District supervisor for 14 years, currently serves as vice president on the Georgia Association of Conservation Districts' board, and was named Supervisor of the Year in 2023. Beyond his professional conservation work, Turner has also committed extensive time to youth education through 4-H and leadership roles in civic organizations. The resolution formally congratulates Turner on his induction into the Georgia Association of Conservation Districts' Hall of Fame and directs the House Clerk to provide him with an official copy of the resolution, recognizing his outstanding service and leadership in conservation efforts.
