This bill establishes a new unemployment benefit provision in Iowa that allows individuals to receive partial unemployment benefits when they accept a job paying less than their current unemployment benefit amount. Specifically, if an unemployed person finds work with a weekly salary lower than their weekly unemployment benefit, they can receive a supplemental payment equal to the difference between their new salary and their original benefit amount. This offset applies only if the individual accepts the job before exhausting their total unemployment benefits for the year. The benefits will be considered fully exhausted when the combined total of the new salary and received unemployment benefits equals or exceeds the maximum total benefits originally available to the individual during their benefit year.
