This resolution nominates four specific individuals to be elected to circuit court judgeships in Virginia, each for an eight-year term starting at different dates in 2025 and 2026. The nominated judges are William Edward Tomko, III from Sussex, who will serve on the Sixth Judicial Circuit beginning July 1, 2025; Christopher R. Papile from Newport News, who will serve on the Seventh Judicial Circuit beginning July 1, 2025; David A. Oblon from Fairfax City, who will serve on the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit beginning January 1, 2026; and James R. Swanson from Roanoke County, who will serve on the Twenty-third Judicial Circuit beginning April 1, 2025.
